1. Daily Bible Reading

We hear from God by reading His word and by listening to it preached. His word is found in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Besides hearing the word preached and taught at church, we need to read His word on a daily basis. We should set aside a specific time of the day, preferably in the morning, to read the Bible. It is a good idea to start in the New Testament and read at least three chapters a day. Continue reading “Growing In Christ (New Convert’s Series – Lesson 2)”

Maker-of-Heaven-1024x399

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only begotten Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father almighty; from where he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the dead and in everlasting life. Amen

  1. Are there more Gods than One?

There is only one true and living God, who exists in three Persons; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and these three are one God, sharing the same substance, equal in power and glory.   Continue reading “About the Trinity and God the Father (Christian Beliefs)”

  1. The Local Church:

God’s chosen people, the Church, is made up of all true Christians everywhere, but is manifested in local churches. Until we are in fellowship with a local church we are not truly in fellowship with the universal Church.

We are disciples of Christ. But since Christ went back to heaven He disciples us by His Holy Spirit through His Body the Church. We cannot receive this discipleship without connection to a local church. So local church membership is vital to our walk with Christ.
